HP Digital Camera – The Result of a Long History of Quality beyond Compare

Hewlett-Packard or HP as it is commonly known today is a company that started in a small garage way back in 1938. Two Stanford graduates had a dream to make things better for the world they lived in and together they built an empire to realize it. What started with a microscopic capital of US $538, today shows net revenues of more than $7 billion. This is the success story of Dave Packard and Bill Hewlett.

There is an interesting tale regarding how they named this company. It seems they were arguing on whose name should be kept first – Hewlett-Packard or Packard-Hewlett. They could not come to an agreement and decided to toss for it!

The Birth of a Giant

The founders of this company were electrical engineers and as a result they were always egging to innovate and invent new things that would make life easy for human beings. The first thing launched by the company was a resistant-capacity audio oscillator. Growing steadily, in 1942 HP acquired a ten thousand square foot premises in California. The year 1962 saw the company figuring in the Forbes Top 500 companies – their position was 460th.

The HP steadily ramified its business in hi-tech applications – and they became a household name for computer and printers running with laser technology. They also branched out in medicines, micro-processors and most recently digital cameras.
